February Recap: What’s Been Going On…..

Bringing you my February recap:

February seemed to fly right by… and with it, we flew right into the in-between energy of the season—not quite winter, not quite spring, just a little bit of everything all at once.

Wherever last month found you, I hope you’re making time for what fuels you—whether that’s movement, stillness, creativity, or connection.

The pace of my life doesn’t seem to slow down, however I am working hard to move through it with intention.

Here’s a recap of some of what we held onto in February… .here’s hoping March brings us a bit more warmth!

February Recap – what I’ve been reading:

One Dark Window

One Dark Window Book Cover

February was a big reading month for me—I finished eight books, every single one of them I read just for fun. What else are you supposed to do when it’s freezing in Canada?! lol

For my February recap, I’ll share with you my favorite….One Dark Window—a dark fantasy that completely pulled me in.

If you’re looking for your next great read, check out this Instagram post where we recommend fantasy books based on your Enneagram type.

Because let’s be honest, there’s nothing better than finding a book that just gets you.

February Recap – what I am listening to:

Best of Star Wars

My February recap for music is a bit…sillier.

Music gets kind of stuck on repeat in our household. You know how it is with kiddos.

Currently, we’ve been listening to the best of Star Wars on repeat, thanks to Louis. lol.

It’s been fun to introduce the kids to the magic of movie soundtracks and the power of an orchestra.  They are loving this “new” take on music.  😂

February Recap – what the fam and I have been up to:

For a February recap of family events…well, February felt like a bit of a whirlwind for the Baute household—some days were all about just making it through. Maybe your month felt that way, too?!

Between navigating feet of snow, juggling gymnastics competitions, and managing our kiddos therapy needs, there wasn’t a lot of downtime.

We’ve also been deep in conversations about what support needs to look like for the kiddos school next year, which has added another layer of planning and decision-making. For those parents of neurodivergent or high needs kiddos out there, you know this is a never-ending conversation.

It’s been a season of transition, both physically and mentally, but we wouldn’t know how to do it any other way.

February Recap: who is knocking my socks off:

The ladies of Pantsuit Politics

With the political landscape feeling more chaotic than ever, it’s a relief to have these incredible women keeping up with the latest developments, breaking down what’s important, and sharing it in a way that’s both accessible and thoughtful.

In a time when it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or discouraged, their ability to stay informed while remaining mostly grounded and hopeful is something I truly appreciate. It’s a reminder that even in the messiness, there are people doing the work to keep us all engaged and aware.

I highly recommend their podcast as a different way to engage with the news right now.

And… I had the pleasure of talking with Sarah and Beth last year about the Enneagram and politics – click the link below to listen!
